Investment Officer - Infrastructure

As an Investment Officer, you will

  • Develop structure and supervise the financing of infrastructure projects (including projects in energy, access to water, logistic & transport, telecommunications).
  • Establish and manage a firm client base by prospecting and building relationships with players in the infrastructure sector in developing and emerging markets.

Your responsibilities & tasks

  • Participate in the implementation of the strategy for the department
  • Identify and evaluate investment opportunities using economical, social and environmental parameters –if necessary in coordination with experts in specific areas
  • Develop necessary analysis tools and processes to assess the projects
  • Perform evaluation missions in the field
  • Write detailed evaluation reports on the projects and present investment recommendations to the Board of Directors
  • Define and negotiate investment terms with counterparties
  • Supervise the preparation of legal documentation (in coordination with internal and external resources)
  • Ensure the adequate follow up of the portfolio of projects

Participate in ad hoc seminars and conferences

Profile

  • High level education in Business Administration, Economics or Finance
  • At least 3 years relevant work experience in project finance or infrastructure in a bank, an investment company or an audit company
  • Analytical mind, organized, precise and meticulous
  • Ability to take initiatives, learn quickly and strive for results
  • Excellent networking, negotiating and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong team player
  • Fluency in English and French is a must, Spanish and/or Portuguese is an asset
  • Strong interest for impact investing and developing markets – a first experience in the region would be an asset
  • Willingness to travel: ± 15% of time
