EDFI Association's General Manager to take up new position in February

General Manager of the EDFI Association Søren Peter Andreasen will resign by the end of January to take up new position as Deputy CEO of Denmark’s DFI IFU.

Chairman in EDFI, Bruno Wenn, says:

“I would like to thank Søren Peter Andreasen for his leadership and contribution to EDFI over the last six years. EDFI has evolved greatly during his time as General Manager and I am impressed with the results that Søren and his team have created together with our member institutions. This lays strong foundations for EDFI’s continued work to advance European development finance. I am also happy that Søren will remain in the network in his new role at IFU.”

Søren Peter Andreasen says:

“It has been a great honour to be part of the journey at EDFI and I am proud of the results achieved to boost European development finance. I would like to thank all my colleagues in the team and in the member institutions for their strong contributions. My journey with EDFI started in 2015 when I advised on plans to step-up the activities of the Association and to create the EDFI Management Company, and I took up the role as EDFI’s General Manager in 2016 to help carry out these plans. EDFI has become a strong platform for close collaboration that is quite unique in international finance, European DFIs are positioned as trusted partners of the EU and international peers, and we have harnessed the power of the network in strong responses to the climate crisis and to Covid-19. The job change is a personal decision sparked by the opportunity to take up a new position “at home” in Denmark in the executive management of IFU, which has a great track record as an impact investor and a pioneer in mobilising private finance through its SDG investment funds. This is the right time for me to move to a new chapter in my work in development finance and I will remain a strong supporter of EDFI’s work also after I will take up my new role in February.”

EDFI’s Board of Directors will appoint an interim manager from 1 February and until a new General Manager has been appointed.
