Proparco celebrated its 40^th anniversary with an exceptional Investors’ Club conference sponsored by the President of France held at the Centre Pompidou in Paris. Bringing together more than 400 business representatives and financing partners to discuss cross-sector innovation and startups, this event kicked-off a year of celebrations that will take place in our 11 regional offices throughout the world.

In early October, Proparco also partnered with the Rencontres Africa 2017 business conferences in Abidjan, Nairobi and Tunis to celebrate 40 years of action on the African continent. As part of the event in Abidjan, vice-President Daniel Kablan Duncan awarded Proparco’s CEO with a prize acknowledging the impact Proparco has had in Ivory Coast since it opened its first regional office in 1980. Likewise, Proparco’s 40^th anniversary was celebrated in Tunis where AFD, Proparco’s parent organisation, was also celebrating its 25^th year of presence in the Tunisian capital.

Such a milestone gave Proparco the opportunity the reflect on the projects it has supported over the past 4 decades. Two books focusing on emblematic projects from the past 40 years and on the history on Proparco were published on that day. Four immersive videos were also unveiled to allow everyone to witness the impact of our work in Africa, Asia and Latin America . Finally, Proparco also unveiled a new logo and visual identity.
